Mission

Why NestPilot Foundation exists

NestPilot Foundation exists to close the Decumulation Advice Gap — the distance between what high-stakes retirement decisions actually require to get right, and what the financial advice industry currently delivers to the millions of Americans below its asset-management thresholds.

What we believe

Retirement decisions are math. Medicare enrollment windows, IRMAA tiers, Social Security claiming, Roth conversions, and tax-efficient withdrawal sequencing all reduce to a small number of computable trade-offs. The numbers exist. The rules are public. The math is doable.

Most people never see the math. They get a brochure, a generic calculator, or — if they have a million dollars in investable assets — a fiduciary advisor. Everyone else is left to "figure it out," at the cost of $30,000–$100,000 per mistake, repeated millions of times every year.

Transparency is the fix. A nonprofit, evidence-based, free-to-the-end-user tool that shows the math, cites primary sources, and respects the user's intelligence is structurally different from a sales-funnel calculator. We can build it once, and let it compound.

What we do

  1. Free public tools. Anonymous, no-account-required calculators for the five highest-stakes decisions: Medicare enrollment deadlines, IRMAA brackets, Social Security claiming, Roth conversions, retirement-age viability.
  2. Community seminars. Free, vendor-neutral retirement-literacy programs for HOAs, churches, libraries, and employer benefits programs. We provide the materials; community partners bring the audience.
  3. A plain-language education library. Guides and a glossary covering Medicare enrollment windows, IRMAA brackets, Social Security claiming, and Roth conversions — every page citing the primary sources it rests on.

What makes this different

  • 501(c)(3) status. No shareholders, no profit motive, no sales calls.
  • Anchored in primary sources. Every guide and calculator cites the rule it rests on — Medicare.gov, SSA.gov, IRS.gov — so you can check our work.
  • Transparent calculations. Every projection shows assumptions you can inspect. The forecast engine's logic layer is open-sourced.
  • Independent funding. Foundation operations are funded by donations, grants, and voluntary membership dues — never by product sales, commissions, advertising, or user data. Membership never gates a tool. How we stay independent is described on the About page.

We are not a robo-advisor competing on portfolio allocation. We are the verification layer for high-stakes retirement decisions — built so anyone who needs it can use it, free, for as long as they need.
