Progress report: an expanded board and a more transparent nestpilot.org

NestPilot Foundation is a young organization — founded in 2026 — and one of our commitments is to publish progress openly, including the unglamorous parts. Here's what has changed since our last update in June.

Governance: a five-director board

In June, the Board of Directors expanded to five directors, two of them independent — with no family or financial relationship to the founder. Under the Foundation's conflict-of-interest policy, the independent directors form the authorizing body for any decision involving the affiliated commercial entity. The Board page lists the directors, their roles, and the governance practices we hold ourselves to.

Transparency: verify us, don't take our word

The About page now carries our full founding timeline — incorporation in April 2026, IRS 501(c)(3) determination in May, board expansion and the ChatGPT launch in June — along with links to verify our tax-exempt status independently on the IRS Tax-Exempt Organization Search (EIN 42-1856966) and our Florida registration on Sunbiz. Every page now carries our founding year in the footer.

We think this matters especially because we're new. A young nonprofit asking for your trust should make its record easy to check.

A faster, more accessible site

Behind the scenes, we spent July tuning the site itself: pages now load fast on mobile connections, color contrast meets WCAG AA accessibility standards throughout, and navigation is simpler — the free tools remain anonymous end to end, with no account prompts anywhere. If you're reading this on a phone in a waiting room, it should feel quick.

What's next

  • The 500-household research study is recruiting, with pre/post literacy measurement and open publication of findings.
  • Community seminars are scheduled on request for HOAs, churches, libraries, and employer programs — free, vendor-neutral, and we bring the materials.
  • Our first annual IRS filing (Form 990-N) is due May 2027, and our financial summaries will be published on this site as they are filed.

If you'd like to help — hosting a seminar, volunteering, or supporting the work — the Get Involved page lists every way to plug in.
